Marriage principles that guarantees happy, healthy, satisfying and long-lasting union (Part 2)


Forgive your spouse not based on your feelings, the severity of your spouse's offense or solemnity of your spouse’s apology. Forgive your spouse even if he/she doesn’t deserve it because God forgave you when you least deserved it. Immerse your marriage in the pool of endless forgiveness. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” - Ephesians 4:32.
Man and woman can exchange vows, the marriage officer can pronounce them husband and wife; the court can grand them the marriage certificate; but only God can bind husband & wife together in holy matrimony. The real act of marriage happens when God himself pronounces them husband & wife & blesses their union. Thousands of people may attend a wedding ceremony but if God is absent, the wedding is null & void. Divorce proof your marriage; bring back to the center of your marriage. Only God can create the bond that can hold your marriage.
Pray for Your Spouse without Ceasing: Pray for your spouse every day; in the morning, in the afternoon and at evening. Don’t wait until there is a problem. Don’t wait until there is an affair. Don’t wait until something bad happens. Don’t wait until your spouse is tempted. Shield your spouse with prayer and cover your marriage with the fence of prayer. Don’t let a day pass without mentioning your spouse in prayer and bringing up their name to the Lord in prayer. Pray "Lord, shield by spouse from temptation and protect his/her heart from the attacks of the evil one. Fill my spouse with your Spirit and let him/her walk in Your Holy Presence daily. Amen
Husbands: Pray & guard your eyes from wondering, & protect your heart from the immoral women who seek to unseat or overthrow your wife from her queenly position in your life. Don’t let them steal your affections & attention from your wife. The immoral women are dressing so suggestively inappropriate at workplaces purposefully to make men fall. The Devil knows that men are visual creatures & he is working overtime to entice them to be unfaithful. Yes, women need to beware the immoral man too & women need our prayers too but the number of married men who are failing & falling is alarming.
Wives: please cover your marriage & husbands with a lot of prayers. Pay, pray & pray for your husband's faithfulness. Adulterous Affairs Don’t Begin with Sleeping Together; they begin with inappropriate friendships. Friendship and emotional attachments with people of the opposite sex can spell danger for your marriage. Protect your marriage by avoiding private communications and intimate conversations with people of the opposite sex. Beware of workmates who seem too concerned with your personal private life; those that tell you “let me know if you need anything.” Beware of those that give you exaggerated and suggestive compliments about the way you look. Regardless of what is happening in your marriage don’t give the Devil a foothold in your marriage by falling victim to this trap. Let your workmates know there are things you won’t tolerate. Keep a healthy physical, social and emotional distance between you and people of the opposite sex. To be continued, look for part three
